Military Chaplain Salary, Earnings and Wage Information

During 2008, military chaplains averaged $45,000 a year in take home pay. Chaplains with salaries in the upper 25th percentile made $48,000 or more, while those with salaries in the bottom 25th percentile made $42,000 or less a year. Salary levels for military chaplains depend on experience and rank. Since chaplains are officers, they have the potential of making anywhere from $2,655 to $12,172 every month based on their rank and seniority.
