Athens State University Psychology Degrees and Programs

Athens State University offers an undergraduate level psychology major through their Department of Behavioral Science. The psychology major employs an interdisciplinary approach designed to help students develop a strong background in psychology and prepare them for careers in areas such as social work, counseling, mental health, sociology, substance abuse, and general psychology. Upon graduation students can be prepared to apply for entry-level career opportunities in counseling and psychology, or pursue a graduate degree in psychology. The goals of the Department of Behavioral Science at Athens State University are to help students enhance their understanding of human behavior and human service settings, develop an appreciation for ethics in psychology, instill a desire to learn, develop critical thinking and analytical skills, and communicate clearly and effectively.
